RM of Cupar’s story
The Rural Municipality of Cupar No. 218 incorporated on December 13, 1909. Within its boundaries today are the towns of Southey and Cupar and the village of Markinch, and the RM's office is in Cupar.
Two heritage sites recall the early years of settlement. Wheatwyn Church, also known as Wheatwyn Lutheran Church or Zion Lutheran Church, was established in 1906–1907. It is built of field stone in a Gothic Vernacular style.
The Gregherd School Site dates to 1914 and includes a one-room schoolhouse and a monument.
